Meaty Homemade Lasagne in 60 Mins!

This yummy meaty dish is a favourite in our house! Its surprisingly easy to make once you know how. Give it a try it only takes an hour from start to finish and you'll taste the difference from shop bought once you've tasted it.

Firstly Pre heat your oven to 200 degrees

Ingredients

Meat Sauce

300g pack of fresh egg pasta from Bread For Life

500g organic pasture fed beef from Feldon Forest Farm

1 onion chopped

1 clove of garlic crushed

1 jar of tomato passata from Veg Box

A handful of chopped parsley from Veg Box

Extra grated cheddar cheese for the topping

Cheesy Sauce

20g butter

1 heaped tablespoon of plain flour sifted

400ml Milk

A handful of grated cheddar Cheese

Method

Heat a little oil in a frying pan and stir in the chopped onions and crushed garlic. Cook until transparent around 5 mins. Add your beef mince and cook until browned. Add the passata and chopped parsley, bring to the boil and simmer for 10 mins. Season as required. This is your meat sauce.

Whilst the meat sauce is simmering you can make your cheese sauce. Gently melt the butter in a pan and stir in the sifted flour. This is your thickening agent for the cheese sauce so begin to add the milk by stirring continuously and adding the milk slowly. add all the milk and let the sauce come to a boil stirring all the time. This should take about 5 mins. Add the handful of cheese and stir in until melted. This is your cheese sauce.

To create your lasagne simply ladle some meat sauce on to the base of a glass pyrex dish. This will stop the pasta sticking to the bottom. Layer that with sheets of fresh pasta, a layer of meat sauce and a layer of cheesy sauce. Repeat this two more times with the last layer being the cheese sauce. To finish of the lasagne sprinkle an extra handful of grated cheddar cheese over the top. Place in your hot oven and bake for 30 mins until the lasagne starts to bubble and brown on top.

I hope you enjoy the recipe! x
